About Flour & Fauna

While opening a bakery didn't surprise the people who know me well, the road here rarely looked like baking from the outside.

Moving from the Central Coast to the Bay Area, through amazingly flat farmland, working in law mostly, or whatever else I could get my paws on to get by, I finally found home nestled in the mountains of El Dorado County, California.

Here, I found so much more than I expected: meaningful work, a sense of purpose, deep community, and room to grow (literally, my farm doubled here.) My circle widened. My life softened. This bakery became possible.

The instinct to nourish, to celebrate, and to comfort came first. The rest followed when it finally could.

What began as survival has become an offering, shared at the table.
